Our Top 5 Furniture Exhibitions
Under the expert guidance of our amazing Furniture Project Manager, Emmanuelle Moulin.
The world of design and furniture is full of prestigious trade shows that attract professionals and enthusiasts from around the globe. Among them, five major events stand out for their reputation, diversity, and the quality of their exhibitors. Here’s a glimpse of these must-attend events that Sowen loves!
Salone del Mobile, Milan
The Salone del Mobile in Milan is undoubtedly the largest and most prestigious international design fair. Every year, this event brings together the best exhibitors from around the world, offering an exceptional showcase of creativity and innovation in furniture design. The Milan Design Week, held alongside it, transforms the city into a vibrant hub of creativity, with off-site events in various districts like Brera, Zona Tortona, and Ventura Lambrate. It’s a must-visit event where hidden gems are discovered and major brands are everywhere. Alternating each year between a dedicated lighting section and a bathroom section, this fair is essential for all design professionals.
Orgatec, Cologne
Globally recognized for its focus on office furniture, Orgatec is a leading event in the tertiary sector. Large and unmissable, it serves as a key meeting place for professionals seeking innovative solutions and new trends for workspaces. The diversity of exhibitors and the wealth of conferences make it a highly regarded and closely followed trade show among industry specialists.
MAISON&OBJET, Paris
MAISON&OBJET is another cornerstone of international design and decoration fairs.
“This show is especially close to my heart, having had the privilege to work there for several years. It brings together a wide variety of exhibitors, from renowned design names to emerging new talents.”
MAISON&OBJET is the perfect place to discover the latest trends in décor and furniture, all while enjoying the unique atmosphere of Paris.
Workspace expo, Paris
More intimate but equally important, Workspace Paris is a friendly trade show dedicated to office furniture. Known for its warmth and family-like atmosphere, it’s a reunion spot for everyone in the sector. Though smaller in scale, it offers the perfect platform to discover innovative products and connect with passionate professionals.
At Sowen, we love gathering there as a team every year!
3daysofdesign, Copenhagen
Finally, 3daysofdesign is a growing event I haven’t yet had the chance to visit but which is generating increasing interest. Taking place throughout the city with open showrooms, this fair is known for its friendly atmosphere and its focus on showcasing Scandinavian design. Although it’s an off-event, it draws more and more visitors each year and promises exciting discoveries.
In conclusion,
these trade shows, each with its own unique character and charm—are essential events for design and furniture professionals. They offer unparalleled opportunities to discover new trends, build valuable connections, and draw inspiration from the world’s finest creations.
