Henri, Furniture Logistics Coordinator.
What is your role at Sowen and what does it involve?
Furniture Logistics Coordinator: My role is to organize the flow of goods and optimize stock management within the furniture division.
Your background / studies before starting this job.
I was a Department Manager at Decathlon for 4 years, then Store Manager at Quiksilver before specializing in logistics at Globe Groupe and then Factory.
What’s a typical day like for you & what qualities are needed for your job?
A typical day involves managing stock flow within the furniture division and organizing ongoing deliveries and upcoming client installations. You need to juggle the operational management of furniture installations with the upstream preparation of future projects (orders, storage, delivery, installation, and handover), while coordinating with various trades. The key qualities for this role are organization, energy, team spirit, and the ability to handle multiple topics and emergencies at once.
Why did you choose to work at Sowen?
Sowen has carried out some truly inspiring projects that stand out from other agencies. The team is caring, fun, and customer-focused — which is really important to me.
If you had to describe Sowen or your experience here in three words?
Exciting, Team, Respect.
A project at Sowen that stood out to you?
The KYRIBA project: there was a strong sense of solidarity among the construction, architecture, furniture, and decoration teams throughout. I also appreciated the variety of furniture — from very large meeting pods and height-adjustable desks to multiple zones with large meeting tables and, finally, some beautiful, colorful and diverse décor.
Your passions?
Sports: Football, Running, and Surfing. And traveling — I’ve been lucky to visit many countries, and discovering new cultures is always enriching.
A designer or design piece that you love or find inspiring?
César Manrique — I discovered this artist during a trip to Lanzarote. He was a painter, sculptor, and designer who created magical spaces on the island. His own house has even become an open-air museum.
A restaurant or hotel you’d recommend for a memorable experience?
OBLIX restaurant in The Shard, London — an incredible, modern place with a 360° panoramic view. I recommend going at night to enjoy the city lights. 😉
What unusual object can we find in your locker or on your desk?
A spirit level. Nothing bothers me more than a crooked frame or an uneven shelf… alignment is my little logistics OCD.
